Daniel Lee is set to become the first federal inmate to be executed in nearly 20 years on July 13 for the killings of Bill Mueller, his wife Nancy and her daughter Sarah Powell, 8 at their home in Searcy County, Arkansas.
However, Nancy's mum Earlene Peterson has pleaded with US President Donald Trump to give the death row inmate clemency, reducing his sentence to life in prison.
The Trump administration's plan to resume federal executions has been held up by court fights over the drugs used in lethal injections.
