Coronavirus could kill off the UK's pub industry within days without "immediate and decisive" action, its leaders have warned.
The British Beer and Pub Association has written to Prime Minister Boris Johnson calling on his Government to take urgent action to prevent mass job losses and permanent pub closures.
The letter, seen by PA and dated Monday, follows the Government issuing new advice for people to avoid pubs, clubs and theatres in a bid to halt the spread of coronavirus.
It is unclear how long this guidance will be in place for. Elderly people and those with conditions rendering them vulnerable to the virus may have to stay at home for four months.
