UK soap operas, such as Coronation Street, EastEnders, Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, are permitted to return to filming. The government has approved the return to work, lifting the restrictions set in place due to the coronavirus lockdown.
Since late March, ITV, Channel 4 and BBC have halted production on their respective soap operas to protect the cast and crew on set.
Each show reduced the number of episodes released each week in an effort to spread the pre-recorded episodes out further, lasting throughout the lockdown.
While these soaps will now return to production, certain social distancing measures will be required of the actors and crew members.
