James Brown documentary produced by Mick Jagger and Questlove in on the way.A&E Network announced the four-part documentary yesterday (February 26) and said it’s expected to arrive in 2023.James Brown: Say It Loud will be directed by Deborah Riley Draper and will be executive produced by Mick Jagger, Questlove and Black Thought, among others.In a statement, Jagger said he was “thrilled” to executive produce the project, saying: “He was a brilliant performer who inspired me from the beginning and was deeply committed to the Civil Rights movement. I have always admired James and learned so much from him.”Questlove and Black Thought added: “The life of James Brown is significant not only to understand his immense musical impact, which inspires us and other artists to this day, but also for the deep and lasting impression he has had on American culture.“Brown’s life is a crucial and timely story of struggle, redemption, and self-identity and we are honoured to have the chance to share it.”In 2014, the late Chadwick Boseman starred as James Brown for the biopic Get On Up, which Jagger also produced.

Everton for Leighton Baines after the Toffees defender called time on his career yesterday.Baines, 35, confirmed his retirement from playing after 420 appearances over 13 years at Goodison Park.The full-back, who Everton signed from Wigan in 2007, came off the bench in the 3-1 defeat by Bournemouth yesterday to bring down the curtain on his career.Ancelotti said: “The idea of the club is to think about a new role with him.“We would like to know what he would like to do, and then see if we can use his knowledge and experience.“He is a fantastic professional. He has had a fantastic career at Everton.“We have a lot of respect for his decision.

Everton legend Leighton Baines has officially retired from football after the Toffees' were beaten 3-1 by Bournemouth. Baines has been at Goodison Park since 2007 after signing from Wigan Athletic and the 35-year-old retires third on the club's all-time appearance list, having played 348 Premier League games for Everton.He came on as a substitute in the 70th minute for Lucas Digne to make his final Toffees appearance after Carlo Ancelotti was unable to persuade him to stay at Everton for a 14th season.Speaking after the game, Ancelotti paid tribute to the left-back, saying: "It is a performance that we could expect, it was the last game of the season and the motivation was not so strong.
