Care worker who stole £200,000 from vulnerable clients jailed

A care worker has been locked up after stealing more than £200k from vulnerable clients. Chelsea Whittaker, 31, stole money from around 30 people while employed as a service manager for a care company entitled Lifeways, which runs homes for people with limited mental or physical capacity.

One of Whittaker's duties was to oversee the finances for several residents in the Lancashire -based home, and cash cheques for them as and when they needed money, Lancs Live reports.On several occasions between 2015 and 2018, she withdrew cash from their accounts and took some - or all - of it for herself.She admitted in court in October that she had stolen at least £200,000, but ‘not as much as £300,000’.
