‘Lord’ Miles Routledge, who has built a name for himself touring areas of conflict and violence, said he knows of people who are attempting to flog t-shirts mocking the monarch's passing aged 96.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said that the Queen's death marks "the end of an era", but he worries about the "nasty side" of the national mourning.READ MORE: Emotional King Charles fights back tears listening to Queen tributes in Westminster"I personally think it's the end of an era.

I also think there will be a nasty side that will rear its head from all of this," he said. He explained that he thought people trying to make a quick buck from the Queen's death would attempt to flog unsavoury merch to Twitter trolls and anti-monarchy types.

Sensationally, he even suggested the tasteless merch would appeal to the Irish. He said: "I've had several people express that they want to start selling tshirts that say something funny or dark on it regarding the Queen to make quick money from the Irish or other groups, whilst also selling tshirts with the opposite message."It would also appeal to "all the Twitter people wishing her a painful death and saying the worst things possible," Miles added.Miles is no stranger to "distasteful" items himself, recently attracting criticsm for a rug her aquired on one of his three trips to Afghanistan.
