King Charles' step-children with Queen Consort Camilla and if they'll get royal titles
ok.co.ukDuring his first address to the United Kingdom as monarch on Friday 9 September, King Charles reflected on how the death of Queen Elizabeth II would change the royal family.
After becoming King immediately upon the death of his beloved mother, 73 year old Charles had to give up a number of his titles including that of the Prince of Wales, which he was given when he was just nine years old.
Instead, he announced that the title would now be given to his eldest son, Prince William, and his wife Kate Middleton. Speaking from the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace, he said: “As my Heir, William now assumes the Scottish titles which have meant so much to me.
He succeeds me as Duke of Cornwall.” He added: “Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales, Tywysog Cymru, the country whose title I have been so greatly privileged to bear during so much of my life and duty.” In his address, King Charles also expressed his love for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their decision to step back as working royals back in 2020.
