Prince Harry reportedly turned down a dinner invite with his father King Charles and brother Prince William at Balmoral after his wife Meghan was banned from joining the family on the day the Queen died. The Duke of Sussex had insisted that his wife join him for the emotional journey to Scotland, but Charles intervened and said it was “not appropriate”, sources claim.
Rather than an outright snub, it is believed that Charles felt saying goodbye to The Queen should be restricted only to close family members, with Kate, the Princess of Wales also excluded.
As the dispute was ongoing, it caused delays in travelling which meant Harry unfortunately missed the RAF flight taken by his brother William, Prince Andrew and Prince Andrew as they raced North to reach the ailing Queen.
Harry was reportedly instructed to make his own arrangements to get to Scotland, and eventually landed at Aberdeen airport without Meghan, at around 6:35pm, just minutes after the news of the Queen’s death was publicly announced to the world.
