King Charles III gave royal fans a wave as he ventured out in Balmoral with Camilla, Queen Consort. The new King, 73, and his wife, 75, made their way to a Sunday Service on the estate, both still wearing black as the royal mourning period carried on until today, a week after Queen Elizabeth II 's funeral.

Crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the now most senior royals, with both of them flashing a smile and a wave to excited onlookers.

Camilla looked chic in a buttoned coat-dress with a feathered beret perched atop her head. Charles automatically became King on 8 September after the Queen "passed away peacefully" aged 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Since his mother's death, King Charles has had many responsibilities to undertake, including visiting Scotland, Ireland and Wales as the new Monarch.
