Dyson has come up with a unique solution: a pair of very pricey headphones with a built-in air purifier. The Dyson Zone is billed as a wearable device that combines noise-cancelling headphones with a visor over the mouth and nose that blasts the wearer with clean, filtered air. It's said to be targeted at city dwellers who often experience harmful sound and air pollution on a daily basis. The visor does not cover the nose and mouth, but instead creates a pocket of cool, clean air around the mouth.
The visor can be lowered if the wearer wants to speak, or otherwise removed completely when it's not in use.Dyson's chief engineer Jake Dyson said: “Air pollution is a global problem – it affects us everywhere we go.
In our homes, at school, at work and as we travel, whether on foot, on a bike or by public or private transport."The Dyson Zone purifies the air you breathe on the move.
And unlike face masks, it delivers a plume of fresh air without touching your face, using high-performance filters and two miniaturised air pumps."Dyson reportedly spent over six years developing the headphones and built more than 500 prototypes in that time.
