Ubisoft has announced that it has ended online services for 90 of its older games, including Assassin’s Creed 2, the original Far Cry, and a number of Just Dance titles.All of the titles featured on the list that will be losing online services are older Ubisoft games and are not necessarily across every platform. Assassin’s Creed 2 is specifically losing online services on PC, Mac, iOS, and OnLive – whereas Far Cry will only be losing them on PC.The official statement on the page reads, “The online multiplayer services for the titles listed below have now been shut down. The offline features for each game remain available”.

A Quiet Place, has been announced.The game, which is being described as a new single-player, story-driven horror game is based on the film franchise which has spawned two films, both directed and starring The Office star John Krasinski.The films, which co-starred Krasinki’s real-life wife Emily Blunt, took the world by storm with incredibly tense set-pieces, horrifying creatures and a dramatic turn by Kransinki, who to most had been previously known as the fun-loving, much-beloved Jim Halpert in the US version of The Office.Currently in development at iLLOGIKA, a studio based in Montreal comprised of developers with credits on Ubisoft titles Rainbow Six and Far Cry.

Far Cry 6 appear to be teasing some multiplayer projects within the franchise.Originally spotted by YouTuber JorRaptor (via The Loadout), QR codes present in the game can be scanned with a phone, which then reveal different easter eggs and cryptic videos. The video from JorRaptor showcases where the QR codes can be found in the game, and what they reveal.A scannable code from a crate in the game leads to a video with a cartoon revolver chamber and what looks to be some sort of in-game map.

Ubisoft’s recent first quarter earnings call, CEO Yves Guillemot has said that around 80 per cent of the company’s current investments are premium titles.Guillemot said (thanks, VGC): “around 80 per cent of our current investments are targeted at significantly expanding our premium offering by growing our biggest existing franchises, by building new IPs with a focus on player engagement and social interaction, and by adding blockbuster license entertainment brands to our portfolio.”He added that the other 20 per cent are free-to-play titles.
