China's mounting military might poses a rising threat to the West, NATO's chief warned today. Alliance Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg issued the latest alert about the increasing power of the Far East giant's armed forces.
Former Norwegian Prime Minister Mr Stoltenberg told the BBC: “We cannot ignore the consequences of the rise of China. China will soon have the biggest economy in the world, they already have the second largest defence budget. “They are investing heavily in new, modern capabilities.
