A 15-year-old army cadet used his pocket money to buy a 3D printer - and is now making hundreds of face shields for frontline NHS staff.
Chris Johnson can make up to 30 PPE masks a day from his home in Warrington, Cheshire. Since schools closed last month, he has already delivered 158 visors to district nurses in Warrington, medical staff at Preston Hospital in Lancashire and even a maternity team in Oxford.
Chris was inspired to begin the project as many of his family members are NHS workers, including his aunt, Lt Colonel Joanne Eccles MBE, who is deputy commandant of Lancashire Army Cadet Force and a senior nurse at Preston Hospital.
