An inquest heard how a 12-year-old boy tragically died after having a severe allergic reaction to his Christmas dinner. Cason Hallwood, who had a nut allergy, sadly died in hospital after becoming unwell on Christmas Day last year.
The youngster, who also suffered from asthma, had gone out to play with some friends at the park after eating dinner at his grandparents' house with his mum Louise and three brothers Cowen, Corley and Caiden, reports Manchester Evening News.
An inquest held into Cason's death at Parr Hall in Warrington on October 11 heard that his grandad Albert, who cooked the meal, had 'completely forgotten' about his allergy before realising that the glaze used on the gammon contained nuts.
