"I had always wanted tattoos and my now deceased husband wouldn't let me have one, even though he had a couple of tattoos himself," she said. "He said no lady should ever have tattoo, including his wife."A few years after her husband died she decided to "treat herself" for her birthday and took the plunge and got her first inking - a butterfly on her chest.It was while having tattoos that Charlotte met her current partner, Chuck Helmke.

During one of her early sessions in the tattoo parlour, he offered to hold her hand through the ordeal, knowing how much it hurt.The pair struck up a romance and between them hold several Guinness.
