Woman in court accused of stabbing man to death after afternoon in pub

A woman accused of stabbing a man to death following an altercation at a pub has appeared in court. Learose Cheng was charged with murdering Dylan Bacon, 39, on March 14 last year after he was found collapsed in a pool of his own blood outside a block of flats on Rock Grove in Old Swan, Liverpool.Police arrested Cheng after following a trail of blood that led back to her apartment.

She initially told officers that Bacon had stabbed her before "killed himself because he didn't want to go to prison".According to the Liverpool Echo, the pair had spent the afternoon drinking in the pub before she claims she left after being "violently sick." Prosecutor John Benson KC told the jury that Bacon had been found collapsed at the front of the complex shortly before 9pm.Emergency services rushed to the scene but "their attempts were futile" and he was pronounced dead shortly after 9.30 pm.

The court heard that the victim "had been subjected to a sustained assault with a knife" with a post-mortem finding that he had sustained eight wounds to his head and torso.Two were said to be "of particular seriousness", those being a "very deep stab wound to the upper right front of the chest and a very deep stab wound to the left of the upper back".

Cheng was accused of "killing him with a large kitchen knife when he was a visitor to her flat", with an assault on her "good friend" having caused "massive, catastrophic bleeding".The court heard that the 27-year-old had left her home at around 2pm to visit Hoggin's Irish Pub with her granddad.
