A coroner has slammed NHS services in Greater Manchester for a 'catastrophic collision of failures' which she said contributed to the death of an anorexic 44-year-old woman.
Nichola Lomax, who also suffered from bulimia, died at Fairfield General Hospital of liver failure as a result of her eating disorder and the tragedy was caused by 'neglect', senior coroner for Greater Manchester North Joanne Kearsley concluded.
When she died on August 3, 2020, Nichola weighed just three stone and had been discharged from the hospital prematurely three times in the months prior to her death.
