He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Prince Harry today took part in an interview in which he made comments about his grandmother Queen Elizabeth.Harry said the Queen, with whom he says he has a "really special relationship" with, should be "protected".He had not seen the Queen, who celebrates her 96th birthday on April 21, for some time until his trip to Windsor Castle last week, and came under fire for not returning for the Prince Philip memorial service.Harry's relationship with the royals, including brother Prince William and father Prince Charles, has been strained in recent months. In the interview at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, Harry spoke about his family and told Hoda Kotb: "For me at the moment, I'm here focused on these guys [Invictus athletes] and these families and giving everything that I can, 120 per cent to them to make sure they have the experience of a lifetime."That's my focus here.
And when I leave here, I get back and my focus is on my family, who I miss massively."Harry left the Royal Family in early 2020, taking himself and his wife Meghan Markle away from frontline royal duties. It is currently not clear if why Harry thinks the Queen needs to be "protected", though one expert has claimed it has a more sinister meaning. The Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers said: "Prince Harry's comments about ensuring the Queen is ‘protected’ are deeply damaging and insulting to his grandmother and senior royals around her."It should be noted that these comments were made before the full context of the interview appeared.Harry has been critical of royal life and slated the British press during his controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey, alongside Meghan, in 2021.He claims to be able to make the Queen laugh and insists she can talk to.
