Eamonn Holmes has been hit with hundreds of Ofcom complaints after commenting that Prince Harry should be "thrown over the balcony".
Last week, the GB News presenter claimed that Harry only visited the Queen to keep up his credibility, adding: "How on earth… why wouldn't they just throw him over the balcony and her with him?" Now, television watchdog Ofcom has received a staggering 402 complaints over the offensive comment made by the 62 year old.The complaints were 252 more than Channel 4 show Gogglebox sparked last week after showing a clip involving a woman and a duck from a sexually explicit programme.
On Tuesday, Omid Scobie, the co-author of the book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family, took to Twitter to reveal the news. The April 20 episode of "Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel" has, so far, received 402 formal @Ofcom complaints—more than any other show in Britain last week. "If it is found that the Broadcasting Code was breached, Ofcom will begin an investigation." One of Eamonn's complainants tweeted in response to Omid: "I was one of the people who filled in a complaint form to Ofcom. "Although I know they'll probably do their usual hatchet job, at least Eamonn Holmes' vile & dangerous comment against Prince Harry & his wife Meghan—members of the Royal family—is being taken seriously." The disgust from others continued to pour in, with one person saying: "I hope this will be investigate, and the host should be accountable for what he said." Another added: "Let us hope accountability will be achieved." Eamonn is already facing an investigation by Ofcom for comments he made about 5G technology and coronavirus.
