Prince William has received a significant new honour from King Charles, in what is being seen as a major snub to Prince Harry. An announcement from Kensington Palace confirmed that the older prince had inherited an honour that his father had held for 31 years - a decision made after Charles' ascension to the throne in August 2023.Prince William will take over as Commander-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps.

This development comes amidst ongoing tension within the Royal Family, further evidenced by scheduling conflicts preventing a meeting between Charles and Harry this week.

Harry is back in the UK attending commitments related to the Invictus Games and a celebratory event at St Paul's Cathedral marking the project's 10th anniversary.Sources previously suggested that Charles was keen on seeing his younger son during his UK visit, however, such a meeting now appears unlikely due to his busy schedule, reports the Mirror.

Reflecting on this, a spokesperson said: "It, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty's full programme. The Duke of course is understanding of his father's diary of commitments and various other priorities." Nonetheless, there seems to be a glimmer of hope with Harry indicated by the statement, which adds he "hopes to see him [Charles] soon," suggesting the option for reconciliation remains open. The last visit between the two was shortly after the public announcement of Charles' cancer diagnosis, when Harry quickly returned to the UK to see his father.
