It has officially been eleven years since Prince William and Kate Middleton exchanged their vows in Westminster Abbey. And while their lives have changed drastically over the course of their marriage, most noticeably the lovebirds welcoming three children, one thing has remained the same.
While 40 year old Kate always ensures to wear her engagement ring everywhere she goes, William, who recently enjoyed a ski trip to the Alps with his family, does not.
And according to royal insiders, the reason the 39 year old does not is down to a "personal preference" because he "doesn't like jewellery".
Penny Junor, author of The Duchess: Camilla Parker Bowles and the Love Affair that Rocked the Crown, added: "The Palace issued a statement before their wedding saying so." In 2011, A St James's aide explained: "It was something the couple discussed, but Prince William isn't one for jewellery - he doesn't even wear a signet ring - and decided he didn't want to. "It really is just down to personal preference." Another reason why it isn't too much of a big deal that Prince William does not wear his wedding ring is because most people know he is a taken man.
