Flames tore through vehicles during an early hours blaze at a scrapyard in Wigan.The fire service say “around 400 vehicles” are involved in the incident at the Kirkless Industrial Estate in Aspull, Wigan.The blaze started just before 5.45am on Saturday morning (November 14).Eight crews were scrambled from across the region to tackle the flames, which had taken hold at a scrapyard.Firefighters are still working to control the fire, more than seven hours later.Residents have been asked to avoid the area and close their windows and doors as smoke has been billowing out from the site.The cause of the fire will not be known until the scene is made safe and fire investigators can assess the area.Station Manager Andy Hardman said: “Our crews.
