Up to half of pubs across England have not reopened over safety concerns, an expert has said. From today, pubs, bars and restaurants can reopen for the first time in more than three months as the government continues to ease lockdown measure.
But national chairman of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) Nik Antona said feedback from branches suggests not everyone was as eager to reopen on 'Super Saturday'.
Speaking after raising a pint of Marston's Pedigree to mark the end of England's 105-day pub shutdown, Mr Antona said many licensees had done a fantastic job to manage to reopen in the face of insufficient notice from the Government.
