bodybuilding aged 11. Jake Schellenschlager, 22, is now unrecognisable from the young lad who hit headlines in 2014 for setting powerlifting world records in his weight class.
What has not changed though is Jake's passion for bodybuilding which began when he grew bored of watching his dad and older brothers workout in the garage.Just a year later he told dad Chris that he wanted to become the "strongest kid in the world".
And by the age of 14, he was, as he was able to dead lift 300lbs – the same weight as an average baby elephant. While classmates passed time after school playing video games, Jake from Maryland, US became "addicted" to pumping iron for two hours a day.He told The Sun Online: "Being a child bodybuilder was a cool feeling.
I was around it so much in my younger years watching my cousin Joshua, my brothers and my father lift in our house growing up."I had all the game systems there if I wanted to play, but that’s not what I wanted to do - I got bored constantly watching them workout."I wanted to do the same thing so one day I started lifting.
