Icy fog will blanket Britain leading to plummeting temperatures as low as -5C overnight heading into a dour last weekend of the month.
The Met Office last night issued a yellow weather warning for fog lasting until midday today and taking in much of England and Wales.
Two weather fronts formed in the early hours, one to the northwest and one to the southeast, producing patchy rain - with showers continuing in parts through Friday, particularly in Scotland.
East Wales, the West Country, the Midlands, eastern England and parts of northern England have all been victim to thick fog and mist overnight.
