A further 70 Covid-19 patients died in Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon confirmed, brining the country’s total to 985. Public Health Wales said 25 had died overnight, and the total there now stands at 609.
Northern Ireland is yet to report the country's daily coronavirus figures. The chilling figure is the first rise above 500 in days after individual nations reported a lul in deaths over the weekend.
