Coronavirus map shows worst-affected parts of UK as number of deaths hits 759

A live coronavirus heat map showing the number of confirmed cases in different parts of the UK has given a fuller picture of the outbreak across the country.

Today, the government revealed the total number of UK coronavirus cases stands at 14,759 as the death toll leapt by the single biggest daily figure to 759.

The 185 new deaths included 168 in England, up from 521. Public Health Wales said another six had died in Wales, taking its death count from 28 to 34.

There have also been 180 new positive tests for coronavirus in Wales, taking the total to 921. It came after a further eight deaths in Scotland were confirmed by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, up to 33, with 1,059 positive cases.
