A total of 1,973 people have now died in Scottish hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus – a rise of 61. A further 166 Scots have tested positive for Covid-19, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 13,929.
Confirmed and suspected cases currently being treated in hospital is at 1,535, a decrease of 84. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also confirmed that 70 people are in intensive care – a decrease of 11.The numbers were confirmed during First Minister's Questions this afternoon.Sturgeon this week also thanked Scots for their tireless efforts to beat the virus and stressed that progress was being made thanks to people staying at home.
