Two-thirds of coronavirus cases could be going undiagnosed in the UK because the government is ignoring a raft of symptoms, an expert has claimed.
Professor Tim Spector, a genetic epidemiologist at King’s College London, claims potential cases are being missed because only those with a dry cough and or fever are being tested.
Meanwhile other countries have also prioritised the loss of taste or smell as another sign of infection in official testing guidance.
In a damning statement, Prof Spector claims statisticians are collecting data which is "nonsense". "Only people with those two symptoms got tested and ended up on the statistics.
