Manchester United and Manchester City was suspended for a medical emergency. Medical staff rushed to the stands as players awaited instructions from the referee.
Referee Michael Oliver was forced to pause the game just after the half-hour mark as fans alerted officials to a problem in the stands.
City went up through Kevin De Bruyne before Jadon Sancho brought the away side level. But then De Bruyne again put City ahead in the first half.The game was paused with the scores at 2-1 with another incident of someone appearing to be in need of help in the stands.
Pep Guardiola's side go into the game at the top of the table but in need of wins to keep Liverpool, who are in second place and six points behind at the time of writing.
