Leigh-based Indian food company Patak's has died after a car crash. Bolton businessman Kirit Pathak, 68, was involved in the incident in Dubai, where he lived with wife Meena.
He died from his injuries at hospital on Saturday morning (January 23). Patak's was initially founded by Lakshmishankar and Shanta Pathak in 1957, before eventually being taken over by their son Kirit Pathak.Before relocating to Dubai, Kirit lived in the Heaton area of Bolton with Meena and their three children Neeraj, Nayan, and Anjali.
In 2007, he sold the business to Associated British Foods (ABF) for a reported £105 million but retained the rights to the brand in India and was made chairman of ABF's combined world foods group.
