direct to your inboxTravellers in quarantine hotels could be slapped with an extra £1,200 bill if they test positive for coronavirus.From 4am on Monday (February 15) it became mandatory for people arriving in England from one of 33 'red list' countries to quarantine in a government approved facility for a minimum of 10 days.The cost for a quarantine hotel stay is £1,750 for a single adult with people only allowed to arrive into Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, London City Airport, Birmingham Airport, Farnborough Airport or any military airfield or port.The rules state people must quarantine in the room but exceptions allow them to leave include the need for urgent medical assistance, to exercise or attend the funeral of a close family.
