Darren Fletcher has offered the truth behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s rise at Manchester United. The former Scotland midfielder played alongside the Portugal skipper from 2003 until 2009 - a period which saw the club win three Premier League titles two domestic cups as well as the Champions League.
Ronaldo, 35, continues to break records since his transfer to Juventus from Real Madrid in 2018, but he was by no means the finished article during his early days at Old Trafford.
When talking about his former colleague, Fletcher reserved praise for countryman Walter Smith and the work he did during his time as a coach at United.
