Gwenno has shared a dreamy new track called ‘Men An Toll’ – listen to it below.Following on from her last single in February, ‘An Stevel Nowydh’, it’s the second track shared from the songwriter’s upcoming new album ‘Tresor’. That will arrive on July 1 via Heavenly.Speaking about the track, Gwenno said: “‘Men An Toll’ (also known as Mên-an-Tol and meaning holed stone) is a wonderful Bronze Age formation of standing stones near Madron, Cornwall.“With its obvious feminine symbolism its holed stone was believed to aid fertility.

White Lies have been forced to cancel a show in Paris after their equipment was detained by Brexit legislation.The group were due to perform in Paris this evening (April 8) but couldn’t after delays through complex Brexit legislation left them without any equipment to play.In a statement titled “Sad News” the band wrote: “To our dear fans here in Paris, We and our crew have arrived safely this morning to start our European tour. But our equipment has been detained by Brexit legislation leaving England, along with countless other trucks.“We are aware this happened to [another] British band last week.

Blossoms have revealed how their unlikely feud with Johnny Marr over forming a Smiths covers band was put to bed.Last year, the band teamed up with Rick Astley to cover The Smiths. While playing a gig in London, they invited Astley on stage to perform ‘Panic’ and ‘This Charming Man’.The artists subsequently announced two Smiths covers shows in Manchester and London the following month, with Blossoms becoming Astley’s backing band for a full set of theirs and fans’ most-loved Smiths songs.At the time, Marr gave her verdict on the covers, writing on Twitter: “This is both funny and horrible at the same time”. He also added: “Well, I met The Blossoms a few weeks ago and they elected to not mention it.

Maggie Rogers has shared new track ‘That’s Where I Am’ – listen below.The song is the lead single from her upcoming new album ‘Surrender’, which she shared details of last month.In ‘That’s Where I Am’, the singer-songwriter speaks of a love interest who started out as a friend. As she declares her commitment to this love, the buoyant track builds in its backdrop, with handclapped rhythms and deep synths.Rogers sings in the chorus : “It all works out in the end / Wherever you go / That’s where I am / Boulders turn into sand / Wherever you go / That’s where I am.”The video for the track, which is due to be released later today (April 8), was filmed in New York and includes some cameos from famous faces.The 12-track album ‘Surrender’, meanwhile, will arrive on July 29 via Polydor and fans can pre-order the album here.The record, which was co-produced by Kid Harpoon and Rogers, is the follow-up to, ‘Heard It In A Past Life‘, which was released in 2019.

Wolf Alice guitarist Joff Oddie has issued a statement regarding his ongoing absence from the band’s current North American tour.The London group kicked off their latest run of headline dates last month in support of their third studio album, last year’s acclaimed ‘Blue Weekend’.As many fans pointed out on social media, Oddie has been replaced by a stand-in guitarist at all of the shows on the tour so far. Tonight (April 7) Wolf Alice took to Twitter to post “a message from Joff” in which he explained why he’s temporarily missing from the line-up.“I’m sorry I’ve been late in getting in touch with you all,” his statement began.

Interpol have marked their return by sharing the cinematic video for new single ‘Toni’ and announcing details of their seventh album, ‘The Other Side of Make-Believe’.Having been teasing ‘Toni’ for some weeks, today the band release the first taster of their first new material since 2018’s acclaimed ‘Marauder’ and 2019 EP ‘A Fine Mess’, with a new single that explores both the NYC band’s more intimate approach to sound along with a pounding and danceable beat.The single comes with the first of a two-part dance film directed by Van Alpert (who has worked with the likes of Post Malone and Machine Gun Kelly), with the second chapter to follow soon.“It was a blast working with Van Alpert on the video for our song Toni,” said frontman Paul Banks. “We bonded over shared film inspiration as well as a passion for classic music videos by the likes of Glazer, Cunningham and Jonze.

Porridge Radio have shared their new single ‘The Rip’, which has been inspired by both Charli XCX and Deftones.The track is taken from Porridge Radio’s upcoming third album ‘Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky’ and follows on from ‘Back To The Radio’, which was released in February.Speaking about the song, vocalist Dana Margolin said: “We wanted it to sound like massive pop, like Charli XCX, but with the instrumentation of bands like Slothrust or Deftones.”Check the song out below, alongside a video directed by Margolin’s sister, Ella.“‘The Rip’ was the last song to be finished for the album, and we finished it about a week before we went into the studio to record it in March 2021,” explained Dana. “It took the longest a song has ever taken me to write lyrics for, and they took form over a few years.

Cocteau Twins vocalist Elizabeth Fraser has shared her first new song in some 13 years with ‘Golden Air’.It’s the debut single from Fraser’s new project Sun’s Signature, which features her along with her partner, former Spiritualized and Echo and the Bunnymen drummer Damon Reece. ‘Golden Air’ will feature on Sun’s Signature’s forthcoming self-titled EP, which is set to arrive on June 18 via Partisan for Record Store Day.The new song – which Fraser previously performed during a solo appearance at Meltdown Festival in 2012 – foregrounds the singer’s distinctive, gossamer vocals with a lush soundscape of guitars and electronics, with a pronounced bassline and muscular drums.Listen below:Fraser announced the forthcoming Sun’s Signature EP last month.

Melody’s Echo Chamber has released the third and final single from her upcoming album ‘Emotional Eternal’, a tribute to motherhood titled ‘Alma’.The single was released today (April 7). The xx’s Oliver Sim has today (April 6) shared a new Jamie-xx produced single – listen to ‘Fruit’ below.The track, which is described as “a joyful celebration of queer identity and self-acceptance penned to his younger self” comes with a video directed by Yann Gonzalez.Sim shared his first debut solo single from the album, ‘Romance With A Memory’ last month (March 10).Speaking about the new track and video, Sim said: “My new song produced by Jamie xx. Interpol have teased the premiere of their new single, ‘Toni’. Blossoms have announced details of a new film based around their upcoming ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’, and a premiere event where they’ll perform live.The Stockport five-piece’s fourth album is set for release on April 29, and has been previewed by the singles ‘The Sulking Poet’, ‘Ode To NYC’, ‘Care For’ and its title track.On May 3, the week after the album’s release, the band will head home to Stockport’s Plaza Theatre for the premiere of a new film, also called Ribbon Around The Bomb and directed by Arctic Monkeys‘ Creative Director, Edwin Burdis, who worked on the band’s ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ and ‘AM’ albums, as well as the videos for Blossoms’ new album campaign.Following the film premiere, Blossoms will play the new album in full. Mitski has announced details of new UK and Irish tour dates for this summer, ahead of an imminent, sold-out run of dates.As announced last year, the singer-songwriter will tour new album ‘Laurel Hell’ in the UK and Europe later this month, ending on April 29 with a London gig at Brixton Academy.Mitski will touch down in the UK on April 21 for gigs in Bristol, Leeds and Glasgow before visiting Dublin, Manchester and London. Sharon Van Etten has today (April 6) shared details of her sixth studio album, ‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’.The record will arrive on May 6 via Jagjaguwar and is set to explore “the questions we ask ourselves when we think the world – or at least, our world – might be ending”, according to a statement.It continued: “Have we loved as well as we could? Did we try hard enough? How do we protect the things most precious to us from destructive forces beyond our control?
