Holly Humberstone has said that a new single will arrive next week – and it appears to be another collaboration with The 1975’s Matty Healy.Humberstone shared an image of herself on Instagram yesterday (April 14) along with a link to a new single called ‘Sleep Tight’, which is set to arrive on April 29.Humberstone tagged Healy in the post, as well as James Milton – the producer of her acclaimed EP, ‘Falling Asleep At The Wheel‘.You can see the post here:A post shared by Holly Humberstone (@hollyhumberstone)Humberstone has previously written with Healey on the single ‘Please Don’t Leave Just Yet’.Last year at Reading Festival, Humberstone confirmed to NME that the pair had been working together on more new material: “Yeah, we’ve written a couple of songs together, so there may be something coming out in the future…”, she told us.When asked about the differences between her relationship with Healy compared to previous collaborators, Humberstone said: “I think there’s a big difference between working with other writers that just write, and then people [like Matty] who wear their heart on their sleeve everyday when they come into the studio to write about everything that they’re feeling.” Humberstone also opened up about working with Healy on The Late Late Show with James Corden last year. “I still can’t quite believe it that I even got the chance to work with Matty, which is so cool,” Holly said.

Phoebe Bridgers just dropped a bright and bold new love song called ‘Sidelines’. Listen to the track below.Released via Dead Oceans, the song will appear in Hulu’s Conversations With Friends, the TV adaption of the popular Sally Rooney novel, when it premiers on May 15.Bridgers, a longtime fan of Rooney, was tapped to write the track by Hulu.

Palma Violets members Sam Fryer, Will Doyle and Peter Mayhew alongside The Big Moon’s Celia Archer and guitarist Adam Brown, put out a string of singles in 2018 and 2019 before going quiet.“‘Dead Is Dead’ is a positive mantra on the subject of death,” Fryer said of their haunting new indie anthem. “I’m speculating the destiny of the human soul – how we may all connect and where that might be after death.

Richard Hawley has added a fourth and final date to his forthcoming run of gigs at the Sheffield Leadmill.The singer-songwriter unveiled details of two concerts earlier this week taking place on August 8 and 9 to help the venue after news that is under threat of closure. The venue then announced a third date due to “phenomenal demand” on August 11.Now, because of “overwhelming demand”, they’ve added a fourth and final show on August 12. Ride have announced new reissues of their early albums and EPs to mark their 30th anniversary as a band.The Oxford group are set to re-release their seminal 1990 debut ‘Nowhere’ and its follow-up ‘Going Blank Again’ (1992) on November 4 via Wichita Recordings.Per a press release, the former will be pressed on on blue vinyl with a gatefold sleeve and embossed artwork; the latter, meanwhile, is available on double orange vinyl with a gatefold sleeve.Additionally, fans will be able to get their hands on Ride’s first four EPs – ‘Ride’, ‘Play’, ‘Fall’, and ‘Today Forever’ – on a new double white vinyl compilation called ‘4 EPs’. This comes with a 16-page booklet featuring archive photos and an essay by Sonic Cathedral’s Nathaniel Cramp.All the original audio has been reworked and refined, with the upcoming reissues also available on CD and streaming services.

Tim Burgess has shared a new single called ‘Here Comes The Weekend’ – you can listen to it below.The uplifting, romantic track serves as the first preview of the Charlatans frontman’s as-yet-untitled sixth solo album, which is expected to arrive at some point later this year via Bella Union.“The idea was very much about two people who were distanced and wanted to connect but were finding it really difficult because of mobile phone signals and rain and time differences and jet lag,” Burgess explained.“And I always knew the album should start with ‘Here Comes The Weekend’. Kings Of Leon have told fans to “stay tuned” as they work on new music.The Nashville band took to Instagram to share a video of themselves in the studio at work on new music.In the clip, guitarist Matthew Followill said: “I’m headed in to make music with the band. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have shared a performance from their upcoming film This Much I Know To Be True – watch it below.The Andrew Dominik-directed movie serves as a companion piece to the 2016 music documentary One More Time With Feeling, and premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in March.It’ll be released in cinemas globally on May 11, with the first full trailer arriving last month.Per an official description, the project captures Cave and Ellis’ “exceptional creative relationship as they bring to life songs from albums ‘Ghosteen’ [Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds] and ‘Carnage’ [Nick Cave And Warren Ellis].Today (April 14) the pair have released a special This Much I Know… performance of ‘Ghosteen Speaks’, which appears on the aforementioned 2019 Bad Seeds album. Alt J have today (April 14) unveiled details of a one-off anniversary show at Brixton Academy.The gig will be a special one-off live performance of their 2012 debut album, ‘An Awesome Wave’, which went on to win the Mercury Prize.The band will be playing the album in full along with some “bonus tracks” at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on May 17. Tickets are on sale here next Friday (April 22) at 10am.The show is to take place during the band’s run at O2 Brixton Academy in support of their fourth and most recent album, ‘The Dream’.Speaking about the special gig, the band said: “To celebrate the ten year anniversary of the album that changed our lives, we are thrilled to announce an extra show at Brixton Academy where we will play An Awesome Wave in full.“We know how much this record means to our fans and can’t wait to turn back the clock to 2012 with them in London’s best venue.” Speaking to NME recently, frontman Joe Newman said that Alt-J have “never stopped celebrating our debut album”.“We’ve never stopped playing those songs live,” he added about the continued inclusion of tracks from ‘An Awesome Wave’ in their setlist.

Toro y Moi has announced a short film to accompany his upcoming album ‘Mahal’, Goes By So Fast featuring comedian Eric Andre.The short film appears to follow the psychedelic adventures of Toro y Moi – real name Chaz Bear – as he embarks on a journey with Andre on a ‘Mahal’-themed Jeepney, a vehicle that’s a popular form of public transport in the Philippines (where the musician’s mother is from).“Chaz, you’re my co-pilot. Faye Webster has announced a new orchestral EP titled ‘Car Therapy Sessions’ with the release of a music video for the EP’s title track.The EP, which will be released on April 29, contains four tracks from Webster’s 2021 album ‘I Know I’m Funny, Haha’ and 2019’s ‘Atlanta Millionaires Club’ as re-imagined by Webster and a full orchestra. The title track however is brand-new and was released alongside a music video on April 13.The music video for ‘Car Therapy’ gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the recording process behind the EP at Spacebomb Studios in Richmond, Virginia.

Hard-Fi appear to be teasing a live return to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut studio album, ‘Stars Of CCTV’.The band released the Number One record back in 2005, and it went on to be nominated for that year’s Mercury Prize. It contains the singles ‘Hard To Beat’, ‘Cash Machine’ and ‘Living For The Weekend’.Hard-Fi released two more albums – ‘Once Upon A Time In The West’ (2007) and ‘Killer Sounds’ (2011) – before going on hiatus in 2014.

Idlewild have shared details of an intimate show in the Scottish village of Ullapool near where they recorded parts of their third album, ‘The Remote Part’, in 2001.The 20th anniversary show – pertaining to the record’s 2002 release – takes place on September 3 at Ullapool Village Hall. Tickets go on sale this Friday (April 15) at 10am here.The band will play the album in full as well as other songs from their back catalogue.In a statement accompanying the announcement, they wrote: ‘The Remote Part’ was largely all written in a cottage in Inchnamaph, Sutherland, just north of Ullapool.

Alfie Templeman has today (April 13) shared a new song – listen to ‘Colour Me Blue’ below.It’s taken from his upcoming debut album, ‘Mellow Moon’, which is set for release on May 27 via Chess Club Records/AWAL. It follows on from, ‘Leaving Today’, which arrived earlier this month, and the previously released cuts ‘Broken’ and ‘3D Feelings’, the latter of which was produced by Will Bloomfield and The Vaccines’ frontman Justin Young.Speaking about the new track, which he co-produced with Kieran Shudall from Circa Waves, Templeman said: “‘Colour Me Blue’ is a love song about that wave rushing through you that you feel when you fall in love”.Templeman is about to wrap up a run of shows across the UK and Europe, with festival slots at Brighton’s Great Escape, London’s Community Festival and Big Feastival still to come this year.He also recently announced that he’ll be embarking on two headline appearances in Australia – his debut tour in the country – on June 14 in Sydney and June 16 in Melbourne.He’ll also be supporting The Wombats on their Australian arena tour that same month.

Belle And Sebastian have shared their new single ‘Young And Stupid’ from their forthcoming new album ‘A Bit Of Previous’.The track, which you can listen to below, follows ‘Unnecessary Drama’ and the band’s ‘Shooting At You’ in support of victims of the conflict in Ukraine.The single comes with a message from actor Jon Hamm in reference to the time the Mad Men actor and Zach Galifianakis fed each other sweets on stage with the band at Bonnaroo Festival in 2015.“In 2015 at Bonnaroo, Belle and Sebastian invited Zach Galifianakis and me up to the stage during their set to toss gummy bears in each other’s mouths. Then [frontman] Stuart [Murdoch] got into the fun and demanded a catch as well,” said Hamm.“It was dramatic, stupid, and done with style and grace.

Shack‘s Michael Head has shared his new single with The Red Elastic Band, ‘Broken Beauty’ – you can view the video for it below.The track is lifted from their new album ‘Dear Scott’, which is due for release on May 27, via Modern Sky UK.The follow-up to 2017’s ‘Adiós Señor Pussycat’ has been produced by Bill Ryder-Jones.The title refers to a postcard F. Scott Fitzgerald, addressed to himself upon checking in at Hollywood’s infamous Golden Age retreat, The Garden Of Allah Hotel.“I’m fascinated with the early Hollywood studio system and the more I got to find out about the hotel, the more I realised how much the lyrical content was intertwined with it,” Head recently told Uncut.“Stravinsky was there, arguing with Harpo Marx – if you’re a writer that’s gold! F Scott Fitzgerald stayed there when he was sober, but I think he struggled as it was a den of debauchery.”He is also due to hit the road for a UK tour with The Red Elastic Band later this summer, kicking off at Leeds Brudenell Social Club on June 1 before wrapping on June 11 at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.

Queen Kwong, aka Carré Kwong Callaway, has today (April 12) shared a new song called ‘On The Run’ – check it out below.The song features keys and synths from The Cure’s Roger O’Donnell and is taken from her forthcoming album, ‘Couples Only’ which arrives on July 12 via Sonic Ritual.Speaking about the track, Callway said: “On the Run is the song that inspired the record’s title, ‘Couples Only’.
