Idlewild have announced a UK headline tour for later this year – you can find all the details below.The Scottish band are due to hit the road in the autumn, with the trek kicking off in Newcastle on October 10. From there, they’ll head to Leeds, Wolverhampton, Cambridge, Bristol, London and Manchester.In December, Idlewild will return to Scotland to play two further shows in Aberdeen and Glasgow.“Live in 2025! We’re very happy to be heading on tour later this year, stopping by some of our favourite cities and venues, with a final night at the Barrowland Ballroom in December,” the group wrote on social media.Tickets go on general sale at 10am GMT this Friday (March 14) – you’ll be able to buy yours here.

Blur, R.E.M., Garbage, Idlewild and more are set to reissue albums from the 1990s for next month’s National Album Day.As announced earlier this year, National Album Day will take place on October 14 and feature a special spotlight on the ’90s.Other artists set to reissue records on the day include Fatboy Slim, Bob Dylan, Wu-Tang Clan, Jeff Buckley and more.This year marks the sixth edition of the event – which originally launched in 2018 – and seeks to shine a light upon the artists and albums that defined the 1990s.

Idlewild have shared details of an intimate show in the Scottish village of Ullapool near where they recorded parts of their third album, ‘The Remote Part’, in 2001.The 20th anniversary show – pertaining to the record’s 2002 release – takes place on September 3 at Ullapool Village Hall. Tickets go on sale this Friday (April 15) at 10am here.The band will play the album in full as well as other songs from their back catalogue.In a statement accompanying the announcement, they wrote: ‘The Remote Part’ was largely all written in a cottage in Inchnamaph, Sutherland, just north of Ullapool.
