Blur, R.E.M., Garbage, Idlewild and more are set to reissue albums from the 1990s for next month’s National Album Day.As announced earlier this year, National Album Day will take place on October 14 and feature a special spotlight on the ’90s.Other artists set to reissue records on the day include Fatboy Slim, Bob Dylan, Wu-Tang Clan, Jeff Buckley and more.This year marks the sixth edition of the event – which originally launched in 2018 – and seeks to shine a light upon the artists and albums that defined the 1990s.

Idlewild have announced a reissue and 20th anniversary tour for their 2002 album ‘The Remote Part’ – get tickets for the gigs here and find all the details below.The new reissue comes on the back of the band celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2021 with a retrospective book and career-spanning UK tour.On July 15 – 20 years to the day since its initial release – ‘The Remote Part’ will be reissued on black LP, with the vinyl available to pre-order via Dig! now.Speaking to the website in an excerpt of a soon-to-be-released interview, frontman Roddy Woomble said: “Simply speaking, ‘The Remote Part’ is the most popular, commercially successful record that Idlewild ever made.“None of our other records achieved that level of popularity. Idlewild have shared details of an intimate show in the Scottish village of Ullapool near where they recorded parts of their third album, ‘The Remote Part’, in 2001.The 20th anniversary show – pertaining to the record’s 2002 release – takes place on September 3 at Ullapool Village Hall. Tickets go on sale this Friday (April 15) at 10am here.The band will play the album in full as well as other songs from their back catalogue.In a statement accompanying the announcement, they wrote: ‘The Remote Part’ was largely all written in a cottage in Inchnamaph, Sutherland, just north of Ullapool.

Blur, Idlewild, Dubstar, Jesus Jones and more, was confirmed to NME by a close friend and collaborator. A cause of death has not yet been revealed.Tributes for Ross have started to pour in on social media, including one from Jesus Jones. “We’re heartbroken at the loss of Andy Ross, one half of the mighty Food Records,” the band wrote on Twitter.
