Selena Kuznikov Deirdre “Didi” O’Hearn, who worked as an executive at A&E Television Networks, died Aug. 12 in hospice care in St. Augustine, Florida of lung cancer.

Deirdre “Didi” O’Hearn, an industry veteran who most recently head of programming and development for Food Network and Cooking Channel, died Monday after a long battle with lung cancer, her husband Richard Eckerstrom confirmed to Deadline. O’Hearn had recently entered hospice in Florida and passed away this morning with her husband, two sons and two of her brothers by her side. She was 63.

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts is set to go up for auction later this year.The extensive collection features a host of first editions of some of the world’s most iconic books, including F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby and Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Hound Of The Baskervilles.They will go under the hammer on September 28-29, and be presented in London, New York and Los Angeles prior to the sale.The signed copy of The Great Gatsby is set to fetch between £200-300,000, while Watts’ collection of jazz memorabilia will also be sold.Discussing the items, Watts’ authorised biography author Paul Sexton said: “He took great pleasure in owning these things.“He valued his time at home and he would read on the road, so literature was a very important part of his make-up.”He added: “I don’t think he acquired them because he knew they would become valuable, he just took a huge satisfaction in owning these great works and tracking down, with the help of experts, original first editions.”See the full collection here.It was revealed last year that The Rolling Stones‘ next album will feature drumming by their late sticksman Watts.According to The Sun, guitarist Ronnie Wood said that the band’s new album will be released next summer. David Benedict Smartly refusing to be doggedly faithful, bookwriter and director Jethro Compton retains the arc of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s (very) short, fable-like story “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” but almost nothing else. Achieving an attractive life of its own on stage, the American story has been relocated to the coastal villages and tin mines of rural Cornwall with perfectly matched, lively and lovely Celtic folk music spiritedly played by a splendid cast. There is, however, a problem: the story itself. From the outset there’s a welcome, knowing humor delivered in direct address by the full company setting up individual scenes for Benjamin (Jamie Parker), beginning with his mysterious birth at the age of 70 in 1918. His horrified parents keep him a guilty secret while Benjamin begins leading his life steadily in reverse. Having been initially hidden, forbidden to be seen in public, by the time he becomes, so to speak, a teenager, he has found a regular secret escape route into the village where he begins mixing with people who assume him to be as elderly as he looks.

Off Broadway’s historic, if long financially beleaguered, Cherry Lane Theatre has been purchased by The Whale and Everything Everywhere All at Once film studio A24.

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor Tony-awarding-winning choreographer Sonya Tayeh behind the stage adaptation of “Moulin Rouge!” has joined the creative team of the upcoming “Gatsby” musical. The show’s producers Amanda Ghost, Len Blavatnik, Jordan Roth and American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) also announced that the stage adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel will have its World Premiere at A.R.T. in 2024. With “Hadestown” alum Rachel Chavkin on board to direct. As previously announced, Florence Welch, the force behind Florence + the Machine will write the lyrics. Welch will be joined by Thomas Bartlett to work on the show’s music.
