Ash have announced their newest album as well as a joint UK and European tour with British rock band, The Subways.Titled ‘Race The Night’, the band’s latest LP marks the first album they have released together in more than five years. Ash have also released the LP’s title track.

Ash have shared new song ‘Crashed Out Wasted’, as well as telling NME about what to expect from eighth album ‘Race The Night‘ and their upcoming joint tour with The Subways.The new album, released on September 15 on Fierce Panda, has been five years in the making, and – with classic Ash dynamism – tackles themes of ego, sex, gentrification and dislocation. The band tour across the UK with The Subways from the end of September, culminating at the Kentish Town Forum on October 11, before heading on to Europe.For another taster of the record, the band have shared ‘Crashed Out Wasted’ – described by frontman Tim Wheeler as “an ode to one of those nights” where “you may be the last one standing, or wobbling, but you aren’t ready to end it just yet”.“You’re drunk dialing, and shit posting, looking for a partner in Dionysian crime,” said Wheeler. “Before you know it you’re crashing down the stairs, your mind is gone, and that’s when the bad thing happens…”Wheeler spoke to NME about the album’s lengthy genesis, their unreleased disco album and the ongoing godlike effects of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll.

The Subways have announced details of their fifth album ‘Uncertain Joys’ and shared new single ‘Love Waiting On You’ – check it out below.Due 13 January 2023 on Alcopop! Records, The Subways’ ‘Uncertain Joys’ is the followup to 2015’s self-titled album. The Subways frontman Billy Lunn has shared a statement apologising for “shitty decisions” and revealing a Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) diagnosis.Taking to Twitter yesterday (February 20), Lunn shared a message to “fully disclose these last few years to you, now that I feel I’m finally on the right track”.He wrote: “You may have seen that I have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, and that I’m now awaiting treatment and medication. This came about following a suicide attempt last summer (2021), after I was confronted with the fact that I was cheating on my wife whilst claiming we were separated.“This wasn’t an isolated incident,” he added.

The Subways have announced a new show set to take place on a boat, dubbed the HMS Alcopop-A-Cruiser.The band will set sail on the River Thames for the gig with a host of support acts on the evening of September 17.The Subways will be joined by Tellison, Beach Riot and special guests, who are yet to be announced.Half of the ticket fee will be donated to a charity of the buyer’s choice. Capacity on board the boat is limited to 150 people and tickets have already sold out.In a press release, Alcopop!
