Dr Michael Mosley 'was set to join Strictly Come Dancing before his tragic death'
Dr Michael Mosley was rumoured to have been asked to take part in Strictly Come Dancing just weeks before he died. The TV star and medic, known for the series Trust Me, I'm A Doctor and his podcast Just One Thing, went missing last week during a holiday on the Greek island of Symi before his body was found in a rocky area near Agia Marina beach on Sunday, 9 June. Now, The Mail Online is reporting that Michael, 67, had told friends that he had been invited to do Strictly this year for the show's 20-year anniversary series. According to the publication, he was not thought to have signed a contract yet but a friend of the doctor said: "He told me just the week before last he'd been invited to do Strictly." Michael, whose work to improve the nation's health included popularising the 5:2 diet and encouraging people to be more active, had spoken about the benefits of dancing in a May 2022 episode of Just One Thing titled "How can dancing help your brain?".
