Swindon hunt for young fan who wrote touching letter offering 26p to Harry McKirdy

Swindon Town have issued a plea to track down a young Robins fan who wrote a touching letter to Harry McKirdy with 26p attached.The young fan, who signed the letter as Joe, is just six years old and outlined how he and his mother cannot afford to attend games at the County Ground.And the youngster then outlined his plans to come to attend and stuck 26p to the letter for Town star McKirdy.The touching note has gone viral on social media - with the club desperate to track down their junior support.The Robins tweeted: "We have received this letter from Town fan Joe, aged 6 and a half."We'd really love to get in touch with Joe, but we don't have a return address."If anyone recognises the writing or thinks they know who Joe is, please email supporters@swindontownfc.co.uk".And Swindon's attempts to track down Joe were aided by touched fans, who shared the tweet along with the hashtag #FindJoe.Life hasn't been particularly pleasant, both on and off the pitch, for Swindon over the past year, but they have shown signs of recovery under new owner Clem Morfuni this year.Swindon were dumped out of League One last term after a nightmare campaign under former Town chief Lee Power.But Power was ousted by Morfuni ahead of the new season - and the Australian supremo and new Robins head coach Ben Garner have got the club flying in the right direction again.The Robins are just outside the play-off places in League Two - despite a turbulent summer that saw them miss out on a host of transfer targets due to the drawn-out takeover process.Want to be on the ball with all of the latest football news?Well then sign up for the brilliant Daily Star football email newsletter!From the latest transfer news to the agenda-setting stories, get it all in.
