Sunderland’s owner Stewart Donald has agreed a deal to sell the club to a consortium led by a Uruguayan businessman and a 22-year-old.The Black Cats chief is keeping 15 per-cent of his share as the rest of the side goes to Juan Sartori, already a minority shareholder, and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus.
Son of the former Marseille owner Robert, the youngster is believed to have a trust fund worth more than $2 billion. Donald has been trying to sell Sunderland since the start of the year, entering an exclusivity period with an anonymous buyer over the last couple of months.
And the Guardian have reported that it is Sartori, the Uruguayan businessman and politician who already owns 20 per-cent of the club, is part of the consortium.
