Brendan Cole has revealed his "bad boy persona" on Strictly Come Dancing was a result of BBC manipulation following his success on Dancing on Ice.The professional dancer, 45, has spoken out about what life was like for the professional ballroom dancer during his 15-year career on the beloved TV show. But after the New Zealand native completed the 14th series of the ITV show, he has lifted the lid on how he was portrayed on the ballroom dancing series. In a tell-all interview with The Sun, the dad-of-two insisted that BBC bosses only showed one side of his personality, with a heavy focus on his fiery competitive nature.Brendan told the publication how the ITV show has given him the opportunity to show “the real me and complained that he was forced to play a “tiring” character by former producers on Strictly. He said: “I came on Dancing on Ice hoping to show people that Strictly only showed one side of me."They pushed the narrative for 15 series and it was tiring.

That’s actually not me. I muck around a lot and that wasn’t shown – but it is being shown on Dancing on Ice. We’ve all been shown in really lovely lights.”The doting dad added: “I’m not fiercely competitive.

I’m competitive with myself. If I get something wrong or do something that’s not where I can be then I'm immensely peed off with myself.“If I win or lose it doesn’t matter – but it is nice to win don’t get me wrong.
