Strictly Come Dancing bosses have vowed that the much-loved show will return this year. The dancing series was thought to be in jeopardy amid the coronavirus crisis due to the close contact that professional dancers have with their celebrity partners, as well as worries that there could be a second wave of the deadly bug.

But BBC entertainment controller Kate Phillips has revealed that the channel will make sure that the competition will go ahead this year, according to The Daily Star.

The TV boss explained that new measures are being planned so that the show - which will be "smaller" than usual - can go ahead with social distancing alongside regular testing and temperature checks. "There is a feeling if Strictly is back then all is OK
