Sharon Van Etten has released an emotional new single ‘Close To You’, co-written by Courtney Barnett.The new track was written for the new Apple TV+ series The Buccaneers, which premieres on November 8. The soundtrack reportedly consists of an all-female lineup produced by Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint and featuring Lucius, Gracie Abrams, and Miya Folick.On Instagram, Van Etten said of the song: “It was really an inspiring time to get to write a song with my dear friend Courtney and bring it to life with our fellow cohorts Zach Dawes [The Last Shadow Puppets bassist] and Stella Mozgawa for the show Buccaneers airing very soon,” she wrote.

Kurt Vile has announced a new EP called ‘Back To Moon Beach’ along with a 2024 North American tour.The new project’s first single, ‘Another good year for the roses’, is out now, with the full EP due for release on November 17 via Verve. Courtney Barnett made an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers this week, tailing her just-finished North American tour with a performance of ‘Turning Green’.The song appears on Barnett’s recent third album, ‘Things Take Time, Take Time’, which arrived last November via Mom + Pop. She performed it with her current backing band of bassist Bones Sloane, drummer Dave Mudie and Warpaint‘s Stella Mozgawa – with whom Barnett recorded ‘Things Take Time, Take Time’ – on keyboards.Both Barnett and Mozgawa play percussion in the performance, with the former playing cowbell and the latter playing tambourine. Have a look at the performance below:Having just finished her tour of North America, Barnett and her band are gearing up for a trek across Europe and the UK, which will kick off in Munich on Friday October 28.

Courtney Barnett has shared details of a new UK and Europe tour later this year.The Australian singer-songwriter will play 14 shows in support of her latest album, ‘Things Take Time, Take Time’, kicking things off at Munich’s Neue Theaterfabrik on October 28 before wrapping at London’s Roundhouse on November 13 for Pitchfork Music Festival.Earlier this month Barnett supported The Rolling Stones for their 60th anniversary show at BST in Hyde Park, London. Sam Fender, Phoebe Bridgers and The War On Drugs also played on the day in support of the veteran rockers.Tickets for some of the UK dates are available to buy here.

Warpaint‘s Stella Mozgawa and Boom Bip, who launched their new side project Belief earlier this year, have announced their debut album.Mozgawa joined forces with the Los Angeles-based producer for the project, which has been in the works since 2016, releasing their debut single ‘I Want To Be’ in January.The pair said of the song: “We chose ‘I Want To Be’ as the first single because of its anthemic synth hook. It felt like an opening.

Warpaint‘s Stella Mozgawa has paid tribute to Taylor Hawkins while recalling the time her teenage band opened for Foo Fighters.Hawkins died in Bogotá, Colombia on March 25, hours before the Foos were due to headline a festival in the city as part of a South American tour. He was 50 years old.

Warpaint have shared a slinky new single titled ‘Hips’, coinciding with the news of a 14-date run of North American shows.‘Hips’ is the third single to come from Warpaint’s upcoming fourth album, ‘Radiate Like This’ – due out on May 6 via Heirlooms/Virgin – following the release of ‘Champion’ in January and ‘Stevie’ last month.First announced back in January, ‘Radiate Like This’ will mark the LA indie rockers’ first studio album in six years; their prior effort, ‘Heads Up’, dropped in September of 2016.Listen to ‘Hips’ below:Following a run in the UK and Europe – which ends with an appearance at this year’s Primavera Sound – Warpaint will embark on two short stints across North America.
