Before violent games like “Mortal Kombat” created panic among parents there was “Street Fighter II.” The second installment of that storied franchise became a global success thanks to its arcade incarnation before a home release helped launch the 2D fighting genre in the 1990s.

And then there’s the 1994 “Street Fighter” film, but let’s not talk about hat. Legendary wants to wipe that cinematic slate clean, as they grabbed the film and TV rights to the video game franchise from Capcom with hopes of putting together a feature film first.

Jonathan Majors’ Alleged Victim Granted Temporary Order of Protection Ahead of Court Date

Ellise Shafer Jonathan Majors’ alleged victim was granted a temporary order of protection on Thursday ahead of the May 9 court date where the actor will face charges of assault and harassment. “Today a judge granted a Full Temporary Order of Protection for the victim, per the People’s request and with the consent of defense counsel. (At the time of arraignment, a Limited Temporary Order of Protection was granted.),” the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said in a statement to Variety. Majors was arrested in New York on March 25 and charged with assault and harassment following a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. New York police responded to a 911 call and took Majors into custody. The unnamed victim was hospitalized with “minor injuries to her head and neck,” according to authorities.

It centers “on the unlikely relationship between the outspoken, agnostic Joanne (Bell) and unconventional rabbi Noah (Brody).” The character Noah is further described as “a charming rabbi who is stuck in his ways and used to playing things safe. He starts to stumble when he meets a brutally honest and provocative Joanne, totally upending his safe life plan.” Brody is best known for his role in the hit Fox drama series “The O.C.,” while his other TV credits include “Fleishman Is in Trouble,” “Mrs. America,” “StartUp,” and “Single Parents.” He has also appeared in films such as “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” “Jennifer’s Body,” “Sleeping with Other People,” and “Promising Young Woman.”
