Starstruck to return to ITV for second series after wowing bosses with ratings smash

The show has struck a chord with viewers and it’s been a big success.“They would have been mad not to commission another series.”The execs are hoping panellists Jason Manford, Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight and Sheridan Smith will all return.
And they want Olly Murs to be back as host, too. My insider added: “The line-up has worked well, so everyone will be offered a contract for the new series. “Execs are hoping they’ll all be able to do it.”Starstruck brought back the magic of iconic show Stars In Their Eyes by getting tribute acts to compete.And they were impersonating acts of all ages, so there has been something for everyone.I’m not remotely surprised it has been a big hit.
It doesn’t take itself too seriously and is a lot of fun – just like The Masked Singer and Saturday Night Takeaway. With everything that’s happening, we could all do with some silly TV to enjoy on a Saturday night.Meanwhile, viewers have been left fuming by the news that the final has been pushed back a week by ITV due to sports.Along with Saturday Night Takeaway, Starstruck has been wiped from the schedule to make way for the Six Nations.Ireland will take on Scotland from 4.45pm on Saturday March 19 before France and England go head to head later that day at 8pm.
