NFL quarterback Dwayne Haskins dies aged 24 after being hit by car
Former Washington Football Team and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins has tragically passed away at the age of just 24 after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday morning (April 9).Haskins had been training in South Florida with his fellow Steelers quarterbacks before being hit by a car in the region, and sadly couldn't be saved.Haskins was picked up by the Steelers in 2021 and was planning to compete for a first-team spot this year having been released by Washington, now known as the Washington Commanders, back in 2020.A big prospect from a young age, Haskins finished third in Heisman Trophy voting back in 2018. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Saturday afternoon: "I am devastated and at a loss for words with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins. "He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and was one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community."Dwayne was a great teammate, but even more so a tremendous friend to so many.
