A number of players within Manchester United's first-team squad are expecting the club to sack manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Manchester Evening News understands.

United suffered their fifth defeat in their last seven Premier League outings on Saturday afternoon, going down 4-1 at the hands of Watford at Vicarage Road, resulting in some players and staff being in tears after the full-time whistle.

Goals from Josh King and Ismaila Sarr, after David de Gea had earlier saved two penalties, fired Watford into a two-goal lead by half time, before United got themselves back into the contest just five minutes into the start of the second 45, with substitute Donny van de Beek netting just his second goal for the club.
