Manchester United have confirmed the appointment as Ralf Rangnick as their new interim manager. The experienced German coach, 63, has signed a six-month contract at Old Trafford and will take charge as soon as his work visa requirements have been completed.
The former RB Leipzig boss, who has been poached from Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow, will oversee first-team responsibilities until the end of the season, before moving upstairs into a consultancy position.
United had sounded Paris Saint-Germain head coach Mauricio Pochettino to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but the club saw its attempt to lure the Argentine to Old Trafford mid-season rejected, meaning they reverted back to their original plan of bringing in an interim boss.
