Grief-stricken Sophie Wessex looked tearful as she closed her eyes for a moment of contemplation for her beloved mother-in-law the Queen.
The Countess of Wessex, 57, could be seen clutching her bag as she took a moment of silence outside Crathie Kirk, a place the Queen visited regularly during her stays at Balmoral.
After the service, an emotional Sophie spent time reading tributes and admiring flower displays left outside Balmoral for Her Majesty, who died aged 96 on the 8th of September.
In one photo, Sophie could be seen kneeling down to read some of the messages left for the Queen. Members of the Royal family including Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and their respective children were also in attendance.
